Living in Drumcondra
The streets between Drumcondra Road and the Tolka, such as Hollybank Road, St Alphonsus Road and Iona Road, are mostly period houses with long back gardens, and they rarely stay on the market for long. Closer to Whitehall and Griffith Avenue the housing turns to 1930s semi-detached family homes. Buyers here are a mix of families trading up, first-time buyers looking at two-bed terraces, and investors letting to staff and students from the DCU St Patrick's campus and the city hospitals.
Getting around
Drumcondra railway station is on the Maynooth commuter line, one stop from Connolly. Drumcondra Road is one of the busiest bus corridors on the northside, with frequent services into the city centre and out to Dublin Airport, Swords and Ballymun. Cycling to the city centre takes about 15 minutes.
