Custom-coded, with no plugin stack

Every site we build is custom-coded in PHP and MySQL, with HTML, CSS and JavaScript written for that site alone. There is no WordPress plugin stack and no bloated framework underneath it.

That choice has practical consequences. A page only loads the code it needs, so it is quick. There is no collection of third-party plugins that each need updating and can each break the site when they change. And when you want something altered a year from now, the code is readable and does one job, so the change is simple to make.

We use AI-assisted workflows to speed up development, without cutting corners on quality. The result is still reviewed, tested and built to the same standard.

Security built in as standard

Security is part of how we write every build, not an add-on. Three things come standard on every site:

• CSRF protection on every form, so a form can only be submitted from your own site
• Prepared statements for every database query, which shuts the door on SQL injection
• A nonce-based Content-Security-Policy, which controls exactly which scripts are allowed to run on your pages

Hosting, domain, DNS and SSL handled for you

A website is only finished when it is live and working. We handle domain registration, DNS and cPanel hosting, configured properly from day one, with SSL, email and production-ready server settings included.

If you would prefer the site to live in your own hosting account, we can hand everything over to you. Either way, you are not left to work out nameservers and certificates by yourself.

Because there is no third-party plugin ecosystem to keep up with, the site stays stable and does not need constant intervention to keep working.

Built to be maintained

We build sites to last. The code is organised so that a new page, a new section or a new feature can be added later without unpicking what is already there. Where it suits the business, we add a custom admin area so you can make everyday changes yourself.

How a build runs

We keep the process simple and transparent. You tell us about your business and what you need. We scope the build and give you a firm quote. We then design, build and test the site, handle the hosting, domain and DNS setup, and manage the launch. If the project includes an admin area, you launch with one you can actually use.

Your timeline depends on the scope of the project. Once the brief is agreed, you get a realistic, tailored timeline as part of your quote.

After launch

We manage the go-live process end to end and stay on hand afterwards for fixes, tweaks and future additions. Ongoing care is not bundled in automatically: we agree what, if anything, you need once the site is live.

Roughly every two years, a website's code needs a refresh to keep up with browser changes and security updates. We look after that for a small fee, so your site stays current without a monthly contract.
